About The school

History of St. Ignatius High School

In 1993, the Greek Orthodox Church created a Philanthropic Society in Kolkata dedicated to providing a variety of meaningful and effective humanitarian services.
The Society strongly believes that education is a healer of many human problems and enlightened minds can cope better in an increasingly harsh world.
The Society runs five schools in remote rural villages of West Bengal.
St. Ignatius High School is a unit of “The Philanthropic Society of the Orthodox Church”. It is the sixth school to be opened by the Society after the five Bengali Primary Schools we operate in different districts of West Bengal but it is the first to be an English Medium.
The School is situated just 14 kms from Kolkata center in a picturesque area, surrounding by greenery, near Bakeswar village, ONGC More, 5 kms from Kabardanga More.
The School is recognised by the Educational Department of West Bengal and it is affiliated to the CISCE Board.
It is a co-educational day school aiming at providing education of global standards in a disciplined and intellectually stimulating environment.
